UAC says to merge with Sukhoi, MiG into single corporation

MOSCOW, Dec 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation’s (UAC) board of directors has approved merging UAC and aircraft manufacturers Sukhoi and MiG into a single corporation, the corporation said in a statement on Thursday.

“The merger of UAC, Sukhoi Company and MiG was approved at the meeting of UAC’s board of directors held on November 30. The reorganization of UAC in the form of a merger with Sukhoi and MiG is scheduled for consideration at an extraordinary general meeting of UAC shareholders in January 2022,” the corporation said.

According to UAC, Sukhoi and MiG handed over actual control to UAC earlier.

UAC CEO Yury Slyusar said, “the forthcoming merger is the most important event for the aviation industry; preparations have been made, details have been worked out in order to proceed with the formation of the united subject of the Russian aircraft industry, a structure capable of giving a powerful impetus to the development of the Rostec aviation complex and the entire industry.”
